I am getting a ps3... I was thinking of getting an small HDTV but I won't be able to have HD setup with my cable company because I am not paying for cable, I will be living in the dorm...
Does the ps3 via blue ray or itself enhance viewing on regular tvs?
I don't want to buy an HDTV and be annoyed at the quality when I watch regular tv without HD programming...
What about EDTV's or LCD? Would it vary if I bought an EDTV or LCD versus my current tube type tv?
Any advice??

I have a 50+ inch Mitsubishi projection tv that's about 8 years old and all the channels are getting a red look to them. I've tried to vacuum out the inside but it's not helping. Any suggestions? Or is it time to bite the bullet and get a new tv?

I already have a small, not very powerful 5.0 home theater package attached to a DVD player. I'm buying a receiver soon to replace me old stereo, and I'm not sure if I should buy a surround sound one to prepare for a more powerful set-up down the road, or if I should get a 2.0.

When connectng Sony camera to computer it downloads from the memory stick onto Cyberview (Sony's software), and also into My Pictures simultaneously. It seems I can't move pictures from Cyberview. What I do is download pictures from My Pictures to computers CD-ROM. And from there put them on a CD. Question is when pictures go from my camera into My Pictures is it still a 6 megapixel shot (the way my camera took shot or did it downsize to jpeg? On the CD all my info is there as to focal length, shutter speed, aperture, to time of day shot was taken.

I took up photography a little while ago and I absolutely love it. I would like to do sports photography but, to be honest, I have no idea how to go about doing it. Any tips on how to go about building a portfolio and where to start when applying for jobs somewhere - or even what companies to apply to? Thanks.

I've never had one so I'm not sure what I should be looking for, but my main priority is being able to contact family when I'm away from home. I'll probably remain within a 500-mile radius of home, but that very likely includes parts of several states. It would be nice for a caller to be able to leave voice mail so I can listen to the message when I'm not busy. I don't need to be able to listen to music on the phone, but it would be nice to be able to take pictures in case I were in an accident, but if I have to have the music to get the camera, the company can keep both. It would be nice to have clear connections and good customer service, but I don't plan to be spending much time on it.

Any feedback is welcome. I know almost nothing about cell phones or plans, so even answers that some would consider annoyingly obvious are welcome.

its ages since i bought a hi fi and was always annoyed at the seemingly unnecesary confusion over how powerful a system was compared to something else.

surely all that matters is how loud something is..[not how many watts or ohms are involved] and it must be a simple scientific measurement to give any hi-fi an scientifically acurate maximum volume rating so customers can make a decision based on fact.

of course im discussing volume as the issue i'm annoyed about---obviously volume is not the be all and end all when it comes to choosing a hi fi....but i would just like the simple facts..is all!
