Ghosting is caused by multipath reception of the TV signal by the aerial. Moving the aerial can usually fix all but the worst cases. In severe cases you need an attenuator to drop the signal level of the ghost images.

only one (Del Piero) correct answer, but there is more.
Ghosts are caused by signal reflections. The ghost is the result of the same information arriving at the TV at a slightly later time then the main signal.
Multipath reception is one cause. It is due to the signal bouncing off an object like a building, mountain, or trees and being received by the antenna. A more directional antenna or pointing the antenna at the station antenna will help.
Reflections can also be caused by bad antenna cable or bad installation. Usually, ghost images very close to the main image is a cable problem and will not change with antenna movement.
The distance apart is a measure of time between signals. Multipath signals will be farther apart in time than cable reflections.
good luck.

That's what is called Ingress. Has to do with the shielding on your RG6 cable. We see it a lot (I work for the cable company). You may have a staple in that piece of cable somewhere in the wall or even outside. What's happening is, you are receiving two signals, one through the cable and one through the air. Because the cable shielding has somehow been compromised, the air signal is interferring with your cable signal. Just a guess without actually looking at it!

it's your aerial there is a way of sorting this problem out . 1 open your aerial plug that goes into your TV 2 take one strand of the outter copper cable and twist it around the centre copper cable then put it back together and try it if that don't work try doing the same thing again . if that don't work you need some one to check your aerial. good luck

a booster might help improve the signal strength, if you have tried that and still no joy, then you will need to update the existing cables.
