My DVD player has 1 left and 1 right mixed audio connection, it also has a coaxial connection and optical connection.
The sub it connects to does not have coaxial or optical, however it has six inputs 3 red and 3 white.(front centre back etc) If i connect an audio cable from the DVD player to the sub i only get sound from 2 speakers as the cable im using only has 2 jacks on each end leaving 4 inputs on the sub without any connections. Is there anything i can buy to use this sub, or should i buy a new surround system???? help

I have a 16:9 ratio HDTV and I'm confused at why some widescreen movies are able to fill the entire screen while others leave bars. I'm not talking about "Fullscreen". There are some widescreen movies that are able to fill my TV and I'm not sure if it's because it is called "Anamorphic Widescreen". What is Anamorphic Widescreen format?? I notice some rations like 2.35:1 which have big bars, 1.85:1 which I think leaves bars, and also 1.78:1. For some reason I have some 1.85:1 DVD's that have bars and some that don't. I'm looking for the one that doesn't leave bars

It must be:

- Pretty Good value
- It plays MP3s. WMA and WAV are not necessary, but would be nice.
- It has a good battery life - At least 8, perhaps 10. 12 would be sweet, but unlikely.
- It's reliable. My past MP3 player crashes at times, and doesn't read SD Cards well.
- It would be great if it could play SD Cards, but is not a requirement.
- 4GB at least. My last one only had 512MB, which was really not enough.
- Perhaps play videos, but not needed.
- Perhaps look at photos while listening to music, but not required.
- Where I can organize the files on my PC. No matter what I did, even if I say arrange icons by name, it would always list it in my old MP3 Player in the order it was uploaded in.
- Rechargeable batteries. USB rechargeable would be brilliant.
- I can upload my files from multiple PCs. This isn't required, but I can see it becoming a problem in the future. I've heard only iTunes does this.

Although I've heard good things, I HATE iTunes. So, what would u recommend?

I am due for an upgrade and need a good durable long-lasting phone that I can use even when I'm at my ski resort job. My current phone is pretty spotty and often completely loses reception even when others can use theirs.
