ok so i just got a freeview box today and the signal is very weak im currently using a indoor arial up in the attick (thats iv been messing around with for 4 hours lol trying get better signal) but i hear a outdoor arial would make it alot better is this true and how the hell do i get it up on my roof? ie do i need to start drilling holes for wires to go?
and can i just connect it to my exciting wire for the indoor one or would i have to rewire it all?

p.s freeview is actuly really good once its going as i was spending money on NTL for most channels i wasent watching

You can pick up a powered indoor arial (they've got a small preamp that boosts the signal) for about £20 from any electrical store.
Works nicely for me.

the digital indoor Ariel's are quite good. if you buy one from say Argos you get a 16 day money back guarantee. so you could give it a try and if it does not do the job it hasn't cost you any thing. the next option is to use a good quality coax from your existing Ariel or the last option a professional installation.

Try using the glass top aerial from Argos, its great its a digital one and is for indoors. If the one on the roof will not work very well it may need upgrading to a digital one, we just had ours done and it cost us £80 quid, reception is fantastic.

A digital Ariel would do the trick, they can be installed for about £80-£100

just get a outdoor Ariel and put it in your loft no need to go on roof hang it from rafters and point it same direction as roof aerial get a cheap one from focus and some cable plus TV connector i did and have to cables coming out of aerial for free-view boxes in bedrooms works perfect.stops the kids falling out.

yer get a professional 2 install an areal but if u live in sertain places u cant get chanels withhout a satalite dish
