It must be:

- Pretty Good value
- It plays MP3s. WMA and WAV are not necessary, but would be nice.
- It has a good battery life - At least 8, perhaps 10. 12 would be sweet, but unlikely.
- It's reliable. My past MP3 player crashes at times, and doesn't read SD Cards well.
- It would be great if it could play SD Cards, but is not a requirement.
- 4GB at least. My last one only had 512MB, which was really not enough.
- Perhaps play videos, but not needed.
- Perhaps look at photos while listening to music, but not required.
- Where I can organize the files on my PC. No matter what I did, even if I say arrange icons by name, it would always list it in my old MP3 Player in the order it was uploaded in.
- Rechargeable batteries. USB rechargeable would be brilliant.
- I can upload my files from multiple PCs. This isn't required, but I can see it becoming a problem in the future. I've heard only iTunes does this.

Although I've heard good things, I HATE iTunes. So, what would u recommend?

I have just recently got a PINK 4GB IPOD NANO. it was the best purchase i've ever made, since I paid for it with my own money. It has all those things that you want in your MP3 & ipods are better than mp3 and especially the colored ones. which is like the one i have. they have blue, green, silver & pink. its small, compact, plays up to 1000 songs, better brightness than the older ones, more sound, can hold pictures & podcasts and is amazing. and the battery life is up to 24 hours, unlike the older versions of the nanos (white & black) they only had about a 10 hour battery life. it will stay charged for awhile. :)

need anymore advice? lemme know :)
& it was 199.99 but I but on Black Friday (the day after thanksgiving sale) they will probably be marked down. :)
