once, after putting in an mp3 cd into my cd player, it stopped working. is it because the player doesn't accept mp3 files? but how come it would have stopped working? how do i fix it? i have an audiovox cd/alarm/radio system, fyi.

If your cd accepts mp3 files cd's, then it should work, if not you have to convert the mp3 files that you have on cd, to a music cd, so that it can play. If it stops working your laser may be shot. Im not sure how you fix this. I had a cd player in my beddroom and after 5-8 years my laser became shot. You can try cd cleaner to clean your cd player, im not sure if this will work for you sure becouse for me it didn't, then again, I may have let it go for to long. Hopfully someone else can give you a better answer. Good luck.

I think the mp3 CD was a coincidence. That should not "break" a player. As far as the cause of your problem, it could be one of many.

First try to "reset' the unit by unplugging it for a while (15 min.) The only other thing a consumer can do is to get a lens cleaner for CD players and try to clean the laser lens.

If all this fails, you may have got yourself just a clock radio....
