I heard that Plasma and LCD televisions have trouble recreating color depth and color saturation properly... I'm wondering which television is better to watch war and destruction on TV with.

I have a 50 inch Sony Plasma and a 1000 Watt SONY 5.1 system. When Hezbollah launches a rocket, it really sounds like you're actually right there with them.
When it hits an Israeli market, the Bass is decent but, I think I'd be better off with Dolby Pro-Logic II so I could actually hear the screams in full uncompressed 5.1.

What do you think?

I have been asked to take some photos of my freind doing a sky dive. i will be on the grownd, i have a cannon s80 powershot camera and a trypod, the camera is not ideal but as it has a few fetures like a resonable zoom and has a lot of the same caperbilatys of an SLR, i.e manual sutter speed settings ISO settings and apperture prioratys. this being the case can anyone give me the best settings to use so i dont just end up with a small blured spot on the picture, i know i wont be able to capture her in freefall but i want to be as prepaid as posible to get the best shots i can whilst she is parrashuing. it will be a fairly gray clowdy day in england if that makes any diffrence.

In older movies set in the U.S., using rotary phones, the exchange would be given with a location rather than digits. For example "Butterfield 8298." In order to dial that number, do you dial the numbers that correspond to B-U-T? Or is there some other method?

My LCD screen when out on my magenta Razr. My wireless service is through cingular. Customer service mailed me a recon. pink razr and it is the wrong color pink, it is a bubblegum pink instead of a magenta. Cingular didn't send me a battery cover with the phone, so when I put the battery cover on my phone is two tone in the back. I went to the Cingular store to see if I could buy a bubblegum pink battery cover...the salesman told me he couldn't help me and said that my magenta razr is not a color pink that Cingular supports. the bubblegum pink razr is Cingular's pink and Magenta is through T-Mobile. He said that when I send the magenta phone back to Cingular(which is part of the warranty replacement agreement) they will charge my acct. $ 300 becasue I mislead them. I did not mean to mislead them, when I bought the magenta phone on eBay in January I was under the impression that it was the only color pink phone out there beacause I took it to a Cingular store & added insurance

Recently I renewed my 2 years contract with T-mobile. I bought a new phone and paid $150 for it. Two months later the phone wasn't working so I brought it back to T-mobile store. They can't fix it so they said it would have to be sent back and I'd get the same phone but I'd have to keep the old battery and recharger. They said I won't be charged for S/H coz it is still under warranty. Few months later, there was a S/H charge in my bill and they said it is their policy. Yet when I asked them to give me proof of such policy, they are unable to provide it and they won't refund the charge either. What should I do??

Where can I go to resize my digital photos by mega pixels the site I use requires 600 or less. Some of my pics are to big and the photo editor I have only has the crop option and they have sizes like 5x7 or 8 x10 and I don t know what that means. I need something where I can just set it to 600 or whatever. Thanks for your help.

My question is: Can the music on old-style phonograph records be converted directly to a digital format (to preserve sound quality) so that it can be burned onto CDs? (For private use, of course.) There has to be a way. Record companies do the same thing, don't they? I'd like to know if there is hardware & software available to the public for this purpose or if there are companies who offer this service. In any case, I'm wondering what would be the least expensive.

I have a Sanyo DS32224, 32" TV that gets a discolored spot in the upper left corner when the screen is bright (white or light blue does it the worst). It tints the area greenish at first, and then goes purple-ish in time. The spot will spread downward along the left edge of the screen. It takes about a minute or two of a constant bright screen to cause it, and within another five minutes there's a blob about half the height of the TV and a few inches wide that's discolored. If the image on the screen changes, it gets better at about the same rate (a few minutes on darker images or changing colors and it's gone). Video games seem to do it the worst, although certain DVDs (again, mostly ones with really bright scenes) also cause it.

Any ideas on what's causing this or if there's something (easy and cheap) to fix it?
