i bought an ipod back in december of 2005 and it is ruined, it wont work and its not fixable so i was wondering if i could go staright to the apple store and just trade it for a new one, i dont have the box or a reciept .

that happened to me once,i have a nano but yea you call the number(helpline)......but i can't remember the number..look on the website but can you tell mewhats wrong with it

The apple store may be able to see if you purchased a warranty by the serial number on the ipod.

If not, they may refer you to someone that fixes them.

I doubt that they'll let you return it, but hey it's worth a try. The worst they can say is no.

If it's a video, and the battery died, so it won't work, get a hair drier, and heat the sides to melt the glue. Take the Casing off. You should see a memory card, a chip, the screen, and the battery. Get the battery replaced with something else. Put it in, and put it back together. Voila.

If its a video, you dont need one. They know its less then a year old so its under warranty. As far as I know they might not give you a new one.

you might be able to since its still under warranty until the day you purchased it so if u call them and ask them to fix it or something like that then they'll prolly take it
