1. DO NOT TURN IT ON. You will fry the LCD.
2. take out battery immediately
3. Dry it externally with a paper cloth or rag
4. Let it dry for at least 48 hours in a warm, dry environment (not too hot)
5. Put battery back in and hope for the best.
You may experience condensation and/or screen fogging. This will likely go away again. Don't worry.
i know it's a long time to wait, but resist the temptation to start it sooner. Humidity is a killer and water gets in through the keyboard quicker than you think.
good luck!

Listen, I'm a cellphone technician !Take the battery off!! Then let a professional cellphone technician do the cleaning. I repeat!! It is best that you let a technician do the cleaning. Do not under any circumstances attempt to turn on the phone until it is thoroughly cleaned by a technician. Water residue can corrode your phone's board if left uncleaned. Water that condensed inside the LCD can only be removed if you totally take apart the unit. Letting it dry out for many days will only damaged your phone eventually.. spend a little for repair unless you are planning to buy a new phone.

1st, remove the battery to stop it from shorting out. Since you snatched it out quickly, it's not likely to have a lot of water inside. It may be possible to remove the outer casing to let it air out or blow-dry it, but not all cell phones are made that way.
So, I'd recommend contacting the appropriate service center before you try to take it apart. If any damage has been done, I doubt if they'll fix it. But they can replace it & allow you to keep the same #. Warranties don't usually cover this, but insurance, if you have it, probably would.
In the meantime, let your family & friends know your situation & make other arrangements for communicating with them.

Water is a cell phones worst enemy. Try to air dry it quick and hope it has not gotten to the board. Good Luck, but you probably will have to get a new phone...

calm down and take the back off the battery out and the Sim card out and CAREFULLY try and dry everything. put it back together and then see if it works. if it doesn't pull it apart again and let it dry out naturally this can take days! if after all that buy a new phone or call the manufacturer and ask their advice good luck

Bob B has it dead on. You might want to even let it sit longer, say 72 hours before turning it on again. Using a blow dryer in the battery compartment will speed up the process but don't turn the heat up high.

i'm gonna say that it will no longer artwork anymore. I easily have an Ex GF who has dropped her cellular telephone into the comparable rest room two times interior the previous 6 months. the two situations it on no account worked back. She had Nextel so i think of it became a Motorola. you will think of she'd have discovered from the 1st time :)

i would suggest not leaving buckets of water sittin around...
turn it off, leave it alone for a day or two. If it doesn't work Monday go talk to the people you bought it from.

Take all of it apart and blot it dry where you can. Leave it that way until tommorrow. I have done something similiar to this but the water has to be completely gone.
