Software - March 2007

i recently updated my os to windows vista and ever since then I have not been able to rip music from my cd's in windows media player 11. I have tried changing bit rates, checking the error correction in the devices tab of properties, but so far nothing seems to work. It is a bit frustrating. Can anyone help?

I would like to add a new sheet in workbook that the name is in sequence for example "customer 001" then "Customer 002" so everytime i had a sheet follows on.

I can do this in a macro but it only name's it 'sheet xxx' example "sheet 01"

any ideas

This program is so confusing! I've been adding songs off CDs and it just sticks it on there in no particular order. When I try to put them in order of artist it puts, for example, some big and rich under B and some under Other. Also, the songs that I added from CDs, I was able to edit the name of the song and the artist and stuff, but when I added songs off my mp3 player, I couldnt change the name of the song or anything wich is dumb because I was going to just name all the songs with the atrist first and then the song name like George Strait - Check yes or no and then sort the songs by name of the song because that is the only thing that seems to work, but I cant do that because I cant edit some songs!.... so I thought i'd just put the songs in a regular folder so I could edit and alpabetize them easily but i cant get the damn songs off media player! The closest I came was when I highlighted all the songs and said "open containing folder" it opened all the songs in different folders!

Can we use wininstall Le to deploy software updates? Like say McAfee dat files which comes in exe format.
Or is there any other way to update McAfee throughout your network using some group policy or something.

I am making a powerpoint for a school project, and it turns out that i will have to play a powerpoint 2003 presentaion on powerpoint 2000. After playing it on powerpoint 2000, i found that many of my effects and transitions do not work. Can i accurately play it on 2000 or not? Thanks!!!

For all you command-line hackers. I need to be able to convert a long file name to a short one at command line.

Example:

D:\My User Name\My Documents\IM Archives\archive1.txt

to

D:\MyUser~1\MyDocu~1\IMArch~1\archiv~1.txt

I tried using rundll32 to call windows api but was unsuccessful.

Can anyone help?

I would like to use my antivirus NIS2006 in another pc that also is mine. How can I do to procide without problems with Symatec? Maybe I have to pay something else to be alowed to use the same software in two different pc. I have the same question for other softwares, to use them in all pc I have at home.

When i try to uninstall sbc, it tells me that it can do it because critical files are missing. Can anyone tell me, how do i find the files that are missing? I tried search but that didnt work, I think i have sbc and at&t hooked up together and it makes the fan keep running on my puter. CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO FIX THIS? HELP?? THANKS
