there is no reason for buying anti-virus software when there are some excellent free software avaliblle and also some good trials aswell
when your current trial ends you obviously need to uninstall it,when you restart the computer a warning message will appear.click this and you will be forwarded to the security center in control panel, there will be a link there to "find software"
this will take you to a microsoft website were you can get a 1 year trial of computer associates anti-virus and when thats finished there is a 6 month trial of f-secure,this adds up to 18 months of anti-virus peace of mind ,all for nothing
however there are also very good free anti-virus software in the shape of 1.avast 4.7 anti-virus(http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html) and a.v.g anti-virus free(http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/)
these are both very strong peices of software, and are both vista compatible aswell
good luck

If you like you could go to the Microsoft website, search for anti virus partners, and it will give a list of companies that offer trials of their software. If you do what I did you can go from each one to the next as each trial runs out.
I did that but I've used them all and I'm now using the free avast! anti virus program.

Go to some reputable software discussions website like ZDNet.com to do a search. Don't do a general search on the web as some software that claim to be antivirus software are scams and are actually viruses!
