Hi,I'm a singer and i just brought a cheap microphone.I wanted to use this mic to record my vocals cause i'm currently working on my demo.When i use the mic to record my voice,my voice seems to be different!It's not my usual voice.I do sing in front of people and they all say that i have a nice voice.But when i record,the nice voice didn't come out,instead it was a horrible voice that came out.I know for sure that there is nothing wrong with my voice,but is this some kind of a mic problem?Should i get a better mic?I'm very lost right now so i hope you guys could help me with this.Thanks!

To all the computer experts out there:
I used to be able to use Windows Explorer, browse to where I want, then go to Start > Run > Cmd, DOS defaults to the directory where I went to at WE. Now it does not anymore. Anyone knows why?

For eg, in WE, I browse to
"d:\digital photos\personal\fun\2007-03-01\original\"

it used to give me the exact place when i run cmd. Now it gives me the default. I had to type "D:", then cd [all the subdirectories]... It's a hassel!!!

i got my PC reinstalled by a fresh OS. i found out that my audio sound do not work now. also in the add hardware wizard, there are yellow iconed hardwares that needs to be reinstalled, that is the VGA and PCI..how will i reinstall them, or lets say where can i find there location in my PC? and also my software programs, i found out, wouldnt work now in my new OS. how will i reinstall them w/o using any CD-Rom and just the folders in the program files are to be used in reinstalling them????

My PC gone mad. I cant log in to my computer coz it automatically logs off.. i asked here and they answered that i should start with a new OS again (which is still WinXP), anyway it will not harm your files. the problem is that my OLD programs/softwares dont work now in my new OS but theyre still on the C drive. How will i reinstall them again w/o using any CD-ROM? because i cant even find the "setup" icons in the program files. Hope you could help me.

I tried the regedit fix that online where you change out wsaupdater.exe to userinit.exe . . .

but that didn't help . . . although I am able to access safe mode . . . but at this point I have no idea what to do now . . .

So i have decided to buy vista i can not wait any longer. It has been a few months. I am a computer geek and built a really good coputer, it plays battle field 2 with out a sweat the only question is that dreamscene, is it worth buying ultimate for? 100 bucks is it worth it? and how is it for gamming i assume of course you can turn it off when ever you want to so that you can play games but. What do you all think?

When i try to open certain files/folders etc. i get this windows popup box that says....

windows cannot open this file:

File: (shows name of file)

To open this file, windows needs to know what program created it.Windows can go online to look it up automatically,or you can manually select from a list of programs from your computer.

What do you want to do?

Use the web service to find the appropriate program.

Select the program from a list.

When i try to use the web it brings me to some crazy website that doesnt help at all.(shell.windows.com)It just gives me the n file type and file extension or whatever.And when i try to choose a program from the list it gives me a weird list of programs that i have, like microsoft word,internet explorer,nero burning rom,vlc media player etc.None of which help me at all.This happens really frequently and its very frustrating.What does it all mean?What can i do to fix it?

I wish I had an example of what I wanted. I guess I'll descibe it or something. I want to (perfectly) crop around a picture of a celebrity, then one of my friend so it would look like they were in the same picture. I just don't want a jagged edge around the picture. Does anyone know a free downloadable program or preferably a website to be able to do this. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, please ask me.
