My PC gone mad. I cant log in to my computer coz it automatically logs off.. i asked here and they answered that i should start with a new OS again (which is still WinXP), anyway it will not harm your files. the problem is that my OLD programs/softwares dont work now in my new OS but theyre still on the C drive. How will i reinstall them again w/o using any CD-ROM? because i cant even find the "setup" icons in the program files. Hope you could help me.

I think, you cant really do anything about it.
Im not too sure, but you should have done a backup.

The other time, my com went mad, just like that.
I didnt have any backup. I ran a system recovery,
and my com was working well, but the programs and all my saved data were erased. Its starts from scratch. Your pc, would work exactly, how you got it the first time, with only the basic programs.

you should've save the setting of your pc when you installed a new OS, unfortunately the programs are already corrupted and should be reinstall from the CD, you cannot open and run them anymore. lets hope that some pc wiz can help you with this one. if you can run the programs from the startup button then your only problem are the shortcut icons.

before you installed new OS did you try Last Known Good Configuration? probably would have saved you a lot of work.
To reinstall programs try going to add/remove programs and browsing for them if you know their location and file names

IF all you did was reinstall Windows you're installed programs should be there.

Click on START
Then point to ALL PROGRAMS and see if you see your Programs.
IF they are, you should be able to Right CLick on the prg's executable from the submenu and select SEND TO and choose SEND T DESKTOP (Create Shortcut)

If you do a clean install, then you can not use your old programs. You need to reinstall all.
