OK all you mac users. I bought a Dell with Vista on it and I am ready to call Dell back and tell them to take their computer and shove it.....before I toss it out the window! Tell me all the great things about mac and convince me to switch. I am on the fence with this one.

Okay I was typing up something for my homework and when I was done I realized I wanted to take out a whole sentence from my essay. I highlighted it and pressed backspace like I always do, but it didn't get rid of it! I tried again but instead of hitting backspace I pressed a letter like a,b,c etc. and the sentence remained but at the end of the sentence the letter appeared. please help

When i get to the windows XP boot screen , my computer takes over 2 minuets to load!! How can i make it so its quicker, my other computer boot time is about 10 secs.But there is a big processor speed differance, could that be why its faster?? IF not then i still need a way to make this boot faster!

My Computer:
Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.4 GHz
RAM: 384 MB
HD: Capacity: 20GB
Other Computer:
Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.93 GHz
RAM: 512 MB
HD Capacity: 200 GB

BOTH systems have Windows XP Home Edition SP2, With Windows Vista Transformation Pack 6.0

I'm looking how to install the latest Flash Player (I think version 9?) Because I like to go on video sites like youtube and without flash, i can't view the videos. when I click on something to watch, this comes up "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest flash player. " so I click on the link, and it came up with the bar that says "Instal ActiveX" so i click on it, and the install Flash window comes up perfectly fine, but after i click install, nothing happens. I have tried time and time again, but I need a computer whiz to help me with this one. Thanks

Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 or Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10? We want to basically use it for family photos. But we will be using it a little for graphic art. Just amateur stuff. I am familiar with Photoshop but not the Microsoft editor so if you have used it, tell me a little bit about it. Thanks so much!

I'm planning to get a laptop from HP (Pavilion dv6000 series I believe) and I've been given an option for either WV Home Basic or Premium (or the third thing I can't remember... Business?). I would like to try Home Premium but they recommend 1 gb of ram... and that usually means something in this is going to drain my system ram.

Basically asking, is it worth going to Home Premium or just go with Home Basic? Personally, I like to know what's good in Home Premium for I heard there's special media things for music and movies. Please be specific about this if possible.

Okay, for some reason, for a while now my computer has been using approximately 200 megabytes of page file space, constantly. I have no idea why, and I'm afraid it might be interfering with certain programs. I've got 256 megabytes of standard memory and a maximum of about 400 megabytes of virtual memory. The task manager says my processes are taking up some 90 megabytes of memory altogether, and 35 megabytes of that is being used for FireFox. My fully updated AVG Free Edition doesn't find any viruses. In short, there doesn't seem to be any reason my computer should need 200 megabytes of page file space. Any idea why this would be, and/or how I could fix it?

i have some vcds, but I want to change it into dvd format so i can change the language (its chinese/japanese, but every time i try to rip it it has both at the same time), or if anyone has something that can seperate the audio channels for MPEG files. Thanks!

I'm almost finished this project for uni since we now have the computer, spec:
AMD Athlon XP 2400+ (1997ghz)
400gb hdd
XP, but will be formatted later, for multi boot purposes

I'd like to multi boot the following OS's:

MS-DOS 7.10
MS Windows 1.01
Win 2.0
Win 3.11 WFW
Win 95
Win 98
Win Me
Win XP (unfortunately could not get 2000)
Ubuntu

Would this be possible I know about needing the differing file systems FAT, FAT32, NTFS but I need to know if this can be done, obviously with DOS first then Windows in order of release afterwards. No drivers needed? (not a rhetorical question)

When the computer is powered on it would be better if it could list all the above OS's to let me choose, this ain't really needed but makes life easier! Obviously if that can't happen I would just have to deal with it.

PS: Ubuntu ain't part of this project but I want it on anyway, just wanting to know at waht stage should it be installed?

I am trying to burn a CD and when I put my blank CD in, it will not regonise it at all, I have tried on Windowms media player, Real player and also Clone nd with none of then does it regonise the blank CD.

They all say the same "please insert a blank CD" I have now tried 8 different blank CD's and it will not do it at all

One of my mates has told me to go in to "my computer" and right click on my dvd/cd driver, and i did that i went onto properties, its says my disk is full, the whole pie chart is blue with no pink, I have now inserted ten blank CD's and it says the same

So why is my comp not regonising blank CD's, I made a CD the other day for my dad the other day out of the same box and that worked fine??

I have just noticed that on my properties on the CD drive it states 0% free AND 0% used!!!!

I am baffled??

PLEASE help me if u can?
