CD Error part 3!!!!!!!!!?

Question

I am trying to burn a CD and when I put my blank CD in, it will not regonise it at all, I have tried on Windowms media player, Real player and also Clone nd with none of then does it regonise the blank CD.

They all say the same "please insert a blank CD" I have now tried 8 different blank CD's and it will not do it at all

One of my mates has told me to go in to "my computer" and right click on my dvd/cd driver, and i did that i went onto properties, its says my disk is full, the whole pie chart is blue with no pink, I have now inserted ten blank CD's and it says the same

So why is my comp not regonising blank CD's, I made a CD the other day for my dad the other day out of the same box and that worked fine??

I have just noticed that on my properties on the CD drive it states 0% free AND 0% used!!!!

I am baffled??

I have had this happen before. First, right click "my computer", click properties, click hardware, click device manager. Now, whether or not this was a driver upgrade gone bad or simply a corrupted driver currently being used, try this. Click the plus sign next to "Disk Drives" this is your cd not hard drive, right click on you cd drive and click properties. Click driver, then roll back driver, then yes. Now close that window, click ok. Back to device manager, right click on your cd drive again, and click uninstall. Than restart your computer, when xp restarts it will say found new hardware and install your cd drive again. Windows xp has the drivers for cd drives built in.

last time i came across this problem the person thought she had a CD writer and it was only a CD ROM reader so check first
