i keep getting this pop up telling me my computer has been infected. when i click on the info button i get info on buying this software to clean away the problem. is this somekind of $50.00 come on sales pitch or do i have a real problem i need to address? now it's telling me critical system error! system has detected virus activity. and again i get another ad for anti virus software. i already have norton and what ever anti virus software that came with windows xp. shouldn't they have taken care of the problem if there is one?

first the hard disk come in fat32 second it comes with a bu8nch of garbaje of programs third is slow.when i convert the hard disk to ntfs it gets more slow and i just did that i install a windows xp professional and format it all and now the pc is very fast and is like i want it is perfect the only problem is that the copy is not genuine what i do

I just did a Full System Recovery, and it was running BEWDIFULLY. Spent two days updating Windows, reinstalling all my software etc....

Decided to get rid of some of the crap programmes that came with the computer, including Microsoft Money 2002. I uninstalled it from Add/Remove Programs but it was still there on my computer everywhere I looked. So I (stupidly and carelessly) deleted all the MS Money Program Files (some wouldn't delete) then even MORE stupidly and carelessly, emptied the Recycle Bin (what an IDIOT. I usually leave stuff there until I confirm there's no problems).

Anyhoo...

One Registry Cleaning with Registry Mechanic and a run of the Microsoft Money (2001 oops) Registry Cleaning Tool later, and all of a sudden I'm getting the Windows Installer flashing on screen all the time "Preparing to Install"...

I tried to reinstall MS Money from Disc but it refuses to install and the MSIEXEC Windows Installer just keeps flashing frantically.

SO PEED ORFFFFF! Help!

Rebooted from Windows XP Home Edition disc, re-loaded all software (except WinTV card - can't find disc) ... everything okay except Display locked at 640 x 480 Lowest 4 bit. Can't adjust Settings - no joy from Troubleshooter.
Checked System/Device Manager : shows problems "Other devices" -
Ethernet Controller
Multimedia Audio Controller
Multimedia Controller
Multimedia Video Controller
Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
(Everything else checks out okay).

Any ideas gratefully received.
