I lost my windows xp disk and my pc is crashing everytime I boot because of corrupt installation.... wanna know if someone knows of windows xp boot disks that fix installations? (other than the original windows xp disk, obviously)

I use Windows XP Home Edition on a emachinesT3112. My ISP is Comcast (High-Speed). I use a POP3 incoming mail server and a SMTP outgoing mail server. I recently removed then added again Spybot Search & Destroy 1.4 where I purged: WildTangents, WinSoftware, WinAntiSpyware2006, Windows Security Center AntiVirus/Firewall Disable Notify (should I recover these 4 items?). I normally use McAfee Security (Personal Firewall Plus and VirusScan), should I add my IP address to the list of allowed sites? Will this make a difference, can a firewall affect my Outlook Express? My Outlook Express had been working fine for the 5 months I've had it since yesterday until after I reinstalled Spybot. I can't receive incoming messages or send messages through Outlook Express as I get this error message: An unknown TCP/IP error occurred. Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC40**PLEASE HELP!!!**AS THE REPS HAVE NO CLUE!!!

there is no video capability on the latest version of Yahoo messenger for the MAC. when will video capability be available for the Mac on Yahoo messenger.

I have a scanmagic 1200 ub plus by mustek and it is not compatible with windows xp - i have had problems downloading the driver both from the mustek website and from other websites they all say they can not guarentee no virus are included - if i can get them to work are they safe for my computer any suggestions would be great

I typed a document in arial font (MS Word) but ended up saving it in symbol font for privacy. When I returned to the document I attempted to change the font to arial but now I only get different kinds of shapes and symbols. Can I get it back to arial font? How?

I am typing out a document and for some reason I have this horizontal line that won't let itself delete no matter what i do. I right clicked and it does not giveme an option to just 'cut' it out....the backspace deleting does not help either. Is anyone a pro with WORD and tell me what i can do so it will freaking disappear?

I have dell dimension b110 with 1gb of ram, upgradable to 2gb. I've been thinking about upgrading to 1.5GB or 2GB so when I get vista, my computer won't run really slow. if any of you beta testers have used vista with 1gb of ram, how well did it run? i plan on using aero, and will be using itunes, AIM, web browsing, and I play some not-so-intensive games (halo, AOE, simcity, ect.). i've already upgraded my graphics card to 128mb so I'm good with that. thanks.

I am looking for a freeware program that I can use to shrink a hard disk partition that already has Windows XP home and other programs already installed. I want to shrink the partition so that I can intall Linux Fedora as a dual boot.

How much space is good for Linux so that I can install both the O/S and have plenty of room to install other programs? Would 10 GB be ok?

Also, what is the success rate of shrinking a partition? I don't have any files on that hard drive that I cannot replace but I am just wondering how safe it is on preserving the data that is already there.
