I have a scanmagic 1200 ub plus by mustek and it is not compatible with windows xp - i have had problems downloading the driver both from the mustek website and from other websites they all say they can not guarentee no virus are included - if i can get them to work are they safe for my computer any suggestions would be great

have the hardware connected before you intall the driver. connect the driver, and then install.

I would just buy a new scanner that is compatible with XP. They are pretty cheap.
