Rebooted from Windows XP Home Edition disc, re-loaded all software (except WinTV card - can't find disc) ... everything okay except Display locked at 640 x 480 Lowest 4 bit. Can't adjust Settings - no joy from Troubleshooter.
Checked System/Device Manager : shows problems "Other devices" -
Ethernet Controller
Multimedia Audio Controller
Multimedia Controller
Multimedia Video Controller
Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
(Everything else checks out okay).

Any ideas gratefully received.

May I suggest eating peanut butter! This is really the only way to solve a problem, a Delicious and nutritious peanut butter sandwich. Keep the peanut butter out of the hard drive and off the keyboard, for best results.

Go to another computer and get on the Internet. Download the drivers for your NIC card. Then go back and load it on your computer. Go to the Internet and download the drivers for your other hardware.
