Tried several live CDs...only Mepis seems to work, though slowly..would it be faster and run adequately if installed on hard drive ?

(And I mean unbootable in Linux AND Windows XP.) I was trying to install Mandrake's edition of Linux to be swappable with XP on my HP Windows Media Player PC. Although I tried to be careful about creating the partition on an empty area of the disk, I somehow managed to screw it up. All my data are still there, but I can't access it. I'd like to be able to restore without reinstalling XP, since that requires reformatting the drive. I've tried Partition Commander, Fix-It Utilities 6, and also have a Knoppix DVD that I can boot from.

When trying to load Adobe Reader 7.0 the following occurs "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel". Open folder options and do not know the next step. Very confused. Can you help? Thanks!

ok i have a lite-on dvd+-rw duallayer 16 x and an amdathlon overclockeed to 1.6 Ghz 70 Gb HD 512 MB memory 60% used
nvidia riva tnt 128 MB win2k which dvd player software would u reccomend for me ive tried pwoer dvd but nothing shows al i get is sound and windvd works great but is there anyothers or any at all includiong windvd that u would reccomened?

I run the lastest version of Mac OSX and need to run a php server from my computer...anyone know where i could find a legal server download that can handle php for macintosh (and a note to the Mac dissing trollers, i will report any flaming or "Mac sucks" banter that shows up, you have been warned!!)
