you won't lose your contact list. that's saved already, automatically...your contact list is the same no matter what computer you're on. you wil lose your received files though, so the only thing to do about that is to save them on a disk or something.

once you download msn, even if you delete the file and reload it, your contact list is under your msn longin name. Have you ever logged on to msn from a different computer in somebody else's house? You still have all your contacts there, so that's no problem. Yahoo I have no idea, I'm assuming it's the same way because it is all connected with the internet, not with your computer hard drive. As for the received file archives, I would just save it on a USB thinger, like if you have an mp3 player, just move all your files onto that and then put them on the new PC because it's not something saved on the internet; it is on your hard drive or whatever.

Use the File and Transfer Wizard to move all that stuff from the old machine into a temp folder somewhere safe (like a 3rd computer) then import those same settings using the File and Transfer Wizard on the new computer.

No, because your contacts are kept in the MSN database. The messenger it no longer some thing better then a consumer. whenever you log in, the messenger is going to the MSN database, unearths all of your individuals, and reflects it on your msn. i ought to log on your account from accross the international in india, and your individuals would nevertheless be there, so do not difficulty about it getting deleted.

It is not in your computer, it is on the internet, so it will be there when you get there.
