1. Click My Computer.
2. Right-click on your Local Disc drive (usually C)
3. Select Properties.
4. Options to scan your disc are found here, and will begin when you reboot your computer.

This is for Windows XP.

For Windows XP. Click on My Computer, right click on the drive that you want to check, click on Properties, and in the Error-checking block, click on check now.

Are you using Widonws xp? If you are go to my computer, right-click on a drive, and click on properties. Then, click on the tools tab and click check now
