When trying to load Adobe Reader 7.0 the following occurs "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel". Open folder options and do not know the next step. Very confused. Can you help? Thanks!

You can not mess with it and go to this site and redownload and install it. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html or when you open the folder option you can browse to this location on your harddrive C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader and associate the file named AcroRd32.exe to the program

Have you got Adobe Reader 7.0 installed? if not download it first from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html and install it. This should solve the problem for you.

If you already have Adobe Reader installed, you probably lost the file association somehow, so you open "Folder Options" like you did, then select the "File Types" tab, select the PDF extension from the list, click "Change...", and select Adobe Reader 7.0 from the list that pops-up, click OK, and close Folder Options.
You should now be able to open PDF files again.

Sounds like when you are trying to open a PDF file by clicking on the files, it does not start the Abode Reader program. Right-click on any PDF and from the menu select "Open with..." Go to the bottom and select Choose Program. When the Open With box appears, scroll down and look for the Adobe Reader Program. Click it once tohighlight it, then click the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" box at the bottom. Click OK.

If the Adobe Reader is not on the list, you will have to browse and look for the file AcroRd32. (Use the search feature in the start menu if you need to find where it is). Select that file and again check the "Always use..." box.

I don't know. Why don't you try clicking the restore to default setting buttons. and the reset all folders. This is usually a pretty safe bet. Then see if it will download.
