Will the XP home upgrade work?
or do I have to buy the full version?

I have several hundred music files on my computer saved on an external hard drive. Most are copies from my own cd collection, some are downloads from when I used to use p2p before arrests were being made. For fear of virus over the internet or backdoor file snatchers or any other bad / wrongful thing that can happen to files while connected to the internet, I have never turned on the external drive while connected to the net - until just a few minutes ago. I absent mindedly turned it on to listen to my music while here on answers. I got this error message that says something to the effect of 'can't play sound file - cannot find license'. Does that mean I won't be able to play my music again or did that only affect the one song I tried to play?

After reimage with xp home edition-multimedia audo controller, sm bus controller, & video controller( VGA compat.) drivers were missing tried to sys. restore & driver re-inst. both no go. could use a lil help.

I am very stupid incomputer stuff, but finally figured out my Adobe Album Starter and arranged a slideshow with my son's band's music for the background. Iwant to burn it now but need to understand what type of cd to purchase. I thought dvd was for video and cd for audio, anyway, adobe says a cd for video. Does this cd have a special name?

So i tried removing all sorts of unwanted programs/tool bars/search bars and so on from the add/remove window and my computer is still running slow. Then i tried defragmenting my C drive but still no progress so what i plan to do now is re-install windows using a windows cd from my other computer and just using the same registration code that is already in this computer. Would that work? If it does would anyone happen to know how to go about this step by step. I would appretiate it. thanks in advance

When playing my sims 2 games(university, nightlife, and open for business) when it is loading (ex. Loading Pleasantview) it takes really long. I just installed my open for business expansion pack and love it but it makes it really slow, and I have just now realized how slow i makes things load. Please help me see if this is normal and if not, what I can do to fix it. Thanks!

60ghb HD in a 2.5" USB EXTERNEAL BOX, USB 2.0. Disk for windows 98 only. Box claims is a plug and play for 2000/XP but doesn't work when computer booted or plug in USB cable after running. Does not have a jack for power pack. Green light comes on when USB cable plugged in. Is there anything I can do, like drivers? No-name, possiblly Tiwan, model 632T. Message says I have it plugged into the wrong port for a hi speed device. When I say OK, ignores using at a lower speed.

I'm debating on whether or not to use boot camp. I'd like to hear some opinions, pros, cons, etc.

I've always hated Windows and can't fix problems on it, but there is a lot of hoeschool software I'd like for my kids to use. I'm debating on installing boot camp or just getting them a cheap pc.
