U haven't mentioned configuration of your machine. May be its slow because it has less RAM, or insufficient swap space, or a close to death HDD or a slow processor.
Let's hope not so. The following are the steps.
1> Enter your cmos setup by hitting DEL key during computer start up. Make sure that the CD drive is the first in the boot order.
2>Insert winxp cd in your cd drive and restart computer. It will boot from the cd.
3> It seems u r a novice. So keep the partitions as it is and choose to install on your c drive. Just choose to format the c drive before installation. For the rest follow on screen instructions.
4>If u do not know what is cmos setup, boot order, disk partitioning, formatting etc. then call a hardware guy.

You are hammering XP when you start deleting here and there parts of XP. You can insert a Windows XP disk in the CD drive and reboot the computer. The result will be a factory settings version of Windows XP. That means your user settings for Windows are all gone, and you have to do that all over again. Before you do this however, make a print out or write down all your favorites from Internet Explorer, because that is part of Windows, and copy any crutial data on your hard drive to somewhere else, just in case Windows re-install aborts. With Windows XP, the data to all programs, whatever they are, should survive a Windows XP re-install. But plan for the worst. There is a problem on your computer and you can no longer rely on anything to be done right anymore, until Windows XP is finished being reinstalled. If you have any problems outside of Windows XP, you need to use the "Recovery Disk Set" for that computer. You should obtain a copy of these disk if you don't have a set, or if the other computer is the same model you can use the same "Recovery Disk Set," and registration code, and you should use these disks at lest once every three months. Yes, that means you will be reloading every three months the virus scanner, firewall, spy sweeper, internet speed accellerator, etc. Just follow the directions on screen, answer the question and click the right buttons to continue on nthe Windows XP re-install. If you do not purchase an internet accellerator software, you will have to mannually speed up your internet atleast twice a week or it will eventually freeze all the way. It may do so anyway if you don't purchase an internet accelerator program. Try this for now to get some speed back: Click on Internet Explorer. Click on Tools. Select Internet Options. Press Delete Cookies Button. Press OK Button. Select Privacy Tab. Press Advanced Button. Put a check on the box Operate Automatc Cookie Handling. Press OK Button. Select Connections Tab. Go to Lan Settings and make sure box is unchecked for Use Proxy Server. Press OK Button. Select Advanced Tab. Press Restore Defaults Button. Press Apply. Press OK. (Box goes away). Close Internet Explorer. Close Email if open. Re-open Internet Explorer and email and experiment with results in increased speed. Any further speed problem, contact your internet provider for speed problems. If you are running DSL, ask your provider if the internet DSL speed test meter found at www.speakeasy.net for your own self test will work, or just try it. This meter gives upload and download speeds, according to your DSL speed package. It does work for SBC DSL.

Sheesh........... the perfect ideal answer is ... From The MS website.. "All adjustments of living house domicile windows XP and living house domicile windows Vista qualify you to toughen. So, once you're operating both on your computer on the instantaneous, purchase a kit categorized "strengthen". you'll may favor to do a sparkling installation on account that you're operating XP. you're prepared to do it employing the strengthen cd. i'd say no negative aspects. I choose sparkling installs. you'll might want to backup any archives you do now no longer opt for for to lose.
