go with XP.

ME is all ready outdated in some areas. 2000 is the better choice, but XP is newer and has more programs developed for it.

I hate how Microsoft has specified that a purchased copy of XP is required for each computer that runs it, but such I see is the future trend in business. The software is not as expensive as it was when it first came out. I got XP Pro for about 150.00. Not sure if the outlet I purchased it from gave me their discount or not but it's still cheaper than I thought I was going to have to pay when my demo version of 2000 got found out and I couldn't upgrade anymore.

But be ready to discover that XP has not updated its drivers regarding new technology. That might frustrate you like it did me. The next version that comes out might very well take care of some of those issues.

i'd wait for vista. I have a beta version of it, and it's pretty good, beats xp by a long shot. We have a computer running ME, and several running XP, ME is hardly compatibal with anything (any usb devices, cameras, that sort of thing). Considering Microsoft Vista has already released a BETA version 2, it shouldn't be too much longer before it's out.

If you're willing to wait a few months, Go with VISTA, that way you'll have the latest version. If not, XP is the way to go. I had ME at one time and I had nothing but problems. XP is a very stable platform, and is very compatible with older programs.

XP, for its easily cracked , second all its drivers are plug & play, so no additional drivers required to this point, and security wise XP is a lot better.

Get XP, ME is RUBBISH!
Or try downloading the trial version of Vista from Microsoft (3Gigs).
