I have windows XP PROFESSIONAL and this is the third time I reinstalled with my xp software, after few weeks then when I turned on the computer It turned on a blue screen and says "UNMOUNTABLE BOOT RECORD" what can I do to fix this please tell me what to do.

I scanned a picture a long time ago into JPEG format, then copied and pasted that pic onto a MSword document. Lost the original JPEG picture, and would like to convert the picture from the MS word document back to a JPEG file. Can anyone please help?

1. i downloaded the skin
2. i extrcted the files to 'c' drive
3. i clicked on the change skin tab located at the drop down 'messenger' button.

But nothing happens, not even a single window opens or there is no sign of any loading on my cpu.

my antivirus detected an infection few days ago. I checked in the Activity Log, and it said sth like this: the file C:\........ is infected with the W32.Alcra.F virus. Access to the file was denied.
what does that mean? is it that the antivirus couldn't enter the file and delete it, or that the antivirus made the access to that file deniable??( and the file was quarantined)
and i tryed looking for the file so that i could delete it, and i couldn't find it.
So, is the threat over, or not?
oh, one more thing, after that day, I scanned my pc two times and it said that were no viruses in the computer.

after downloading a file from limewire,when i try to open it ir reads"cant open file permission required"
what does this mean,is it to do with a user account?
this is the first time i have used any file sharing program as i was dubious of them at one time but thought i would give them a go as i have decent security.

Ok... I have a HP Pavilion a305w. It came with Windows XP Home Edition. Being without a Recovery Console, my main computer is not gonna be able to be used until I am able to reinstall windows. I went to the HP site and there are no files there as far as I can find (if you find something, please let me know), and I went to the Microsoft site and I only find service packs to download. How can I reinstall windows on my machine without the disks? I know how to reformat and reinstall WITH the disks... I just need to know if there is a way I can make my own. I really don't want to pay 100 dollars for software that I already own. Seems crappy. Not to mention I don't have the money anyway.
