Your hard drive is shot. You need another computer.

You have a corrupt MBR. These are the instructions from Microsoft on how to fix it. The website is also included.

1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.

2.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.

3.If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.

4.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

5.At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER.

6.At the command prompt, type exit , and then press ENTER to restart your computer.

This takes a bit longer, but the system should boot back into Windows.

There is an alternate answer to this question as well.

You may take the hard drive out of your current WinXP computer, then either using another of your own if you have one, or a friends WinXP computer, pop the drive in as a secondary, when windows loads up it should do the checkdsk automatically, if not you may then run it from a command prompt or directly from WinXP. This works if you do not have the Recovery CD for your WinXP installation.

feels like your MBR has change into corrupted. consumer-friendly thanks to rectify is besides out of your domicile windows disk, and use the fix facility to rewrite it. do not use the vehicle fix, do it manually. this can be finished by employing the "fixboot" or "fixmbr" command from the command on the spot (the black demonstrate screen). earlier you do notwithstanding, that is a good theory to "chkdsk" your workstation first. purely type "chkdsk" right into a similar command on the spot. enable the workstation run by its checks and then try the fixmbr command. as quickly because this is rewritten, restart your workstation and with slightly of luck it may boot up ok. *footnote* i'd be slightly careful about the state of your pressure notwithstanding, your MBR might want to very last the existence of your device, if this is what the problem is, you would possibly want to look to make investments in a sparkling demanding pressure. enable me comprehend in case you want extra education and that i can help the position i am going to. :)
