This is really a question that comes down to personal preference. Some people prefer a PC, some people prefer the Mac. Everyone has their reasons, And I'm sure your question will incite a horrible flame-war between people on both sides.

The biggest difference is that the PC uses open standards and technology that were developed by IBM and other companies way back in the dark ages of computing. IBM allowed others to develop hardware for their computers, using certain types of buss es, and basically fostered a market in which anyone can build PC hardware. You'll notice that a lot of companies build PC's (Dell, IBM, HP, etc), but only one company builds Macs (Apple)

Apple computer took a different approach - They didn't allow other companies to use technologies that they developed, and as a result restricted the development of Macintosh computers. This has the benefit of allowing Apple to maintain strict quality control over the components and software that goes into their computers, but has the drawback of not having open development from the community. Also, the price (at least historically) has been higher, since there isn't any competition for 'best product'.

Macs are better! Macs can do anything, plus more than a PC. I think Mac is good for everything. Mac is older than PC, so it has had more time to improve and leave PCs in the dust. Macs are MUCH faster than PCs, never crash, don't get viruses, have lots of good, useful software bundled, and is very compatible. Also, you can install Windows XP on a Mac, in case you need both operating systems, which you can't do on a PC. I personally think there is no reason to choose a PC over a Mac.

PC's are better. Though Mac computers are user-friendly and all, PC's, such as Windows, run more programs and are updated more often. And, Windows Operating Systems are extremely user friendly (the real user friendly ones start around ME and higher) too.

My main problem with Mac's however is their uncompatibility with some software. Take Halo PC for example. The game is compatible with both Mac and PC operating systems. Though, if you want to run custom maps for it, you have to get Halo Custom Edition from www.halomaps.org. Halo Custom Edition only runs on PC, not Mac, so you're stuck with the original.

There are other PC-friendly programs that will not work on Mac. Halo PC is just an example.

Though, Mac's can suit your needs if you want one. But, if you get a PC, go with an updated Windows Operating System, such as XP Media Center.

Everyone has their own opinion about that, but the real question is what are you going to be using it for? If you are like 78% of the population then just a pc with the devices that you want, however if you are into heavy editing or graphics then you would enjoy a Mac more.

That should be worth 10 points!
