A friend downloaded The Gimp 2.0 into the computer at an arts workshop we both attend most weekdays, and it added its own name to the suffixes of the JPEG files that were stored on the machine; she, and a colleague (not me) who she thought The Gimp would be really useful to, thought this meant the relevant website --whichever one it was (I don't remember offhand)-- 's instance of T.G. had a virus, as that behaviour appeared virus-like.

What one program can I use to stop this message from ever comeing up again?


This is the message:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

my windows is messed up and i am trying to repair it because it will not load, i put in my boot disc and try to repair but it keeps asking for an administrator password and i tryed the password that i always use and its not working. how can i get around this to fix my windows?

I installed Norton System Works 2006 on my other computer. About 95% of the way through it, it stopped and said an error prevented it from completing, and it gave me a link to visit to fix the problem. Turns out, it said I needed ActiveX installed on my comp, which I did not have. So I installed that. Once I did, it prompted me to restart my computer. Now, every time I try to turn my computer on, it gives me the Blue Screen of Death. This is what it says:

"STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Session Manager Initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x000003a (0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shut down."
What's this mean?

Whenever i play fullscreen games like Wulfram II and Diablo II my computer gives me a blue screen then an arror message; error: 0e : 0028 : ff0a8aa4, also this one; 0197 : bff9b3d4. Happens every 5-20min i am in such a game. Does anyone know what is this causeing, or how do i fix it? Because of it i cant play games anymore.

P.s what does that error mean?

I need to take parts of various DVD's and put them onto one and was hoping someone could recommend software that could do this. If you have a computer that came with good software, you could tell me about that too.

Also, I don't know if my computer has a DVD burner, so how could I check that?

Photoshop Type Tool Issue - I'm trying to type in photoshop in a document and nothing is happening?

I can save a document and type fine. But if i open a preious typed document or open a brand new document and try to type on the previous layer or new layer nothing happens when i type. No numbers no text. But i can type in any other program besides photoshop. I have never experienced this befoee. Does anyone know what's going on? Or can help me?

I am typing in White on Black...so i would see what i'm typing. I've been using photoshop for over 5 years. This has never happened to me before, so i'm at a lost. I've workt on both a PC and a MAC. My current issue is on a PC.

I need this info badly. I'm no hacker. I just wanna change the settings of a widget that has been running abnormally. Whenever I load it, the stupid default setting I made pops out and when i try to change it, doesn't work so I finally thought, maybe if I changed the settings file or temp cache folder the whole widget will change. Thanks guys.

Hey, everyone, I'm new to the Yahoo! Answers community. I don't really know if this is the right place to post this.
I was wondering, (these may be a few questions) exactly what new features are available in Windows Vista Beta 2? Also, I downloaded the beta of Vista, and all I get is a readme file saying to burn to a DVD because its in the UDF format. I don't have a DVD burner, though. Does anyone know what utility or application I can use to start installing Vista on my PC?

I got a message from Microsoft stating that the Windows XP software that came with my Compaq Presario is not 'genuine'...and this is after two years of having no problems with it..And Microsoft makes people pay for any kind of tech support..Anyone else get royally screwed with by Gates and Company?
