it won't close. the window is closed, but when i right click the icon, nothing happens, and whats worse, my task manager won't open! what can i do to make it close without rebooting? HELP ME!!!!!

Honestly, this is the by-product of a much deeper issue. Some form of virus or spyware or adware or combinations of these are causing this. You'll want a couple of programs to run boot-time scans of your computer to resolve. I'll link the download pages for Ad-Aware for the adware/spyware and Avast! for the virus checking. Both of these programs are free and do a great job on this type of task.

Ctrl+Alt+Delete, go to processes, look for Ypager.exe and click end task, this will close Yahoo Messenger without having to shut down your computer. You might wanna just uninstall yahoo messenger, scan your system for spyware, Adware and viruses and then re-install messenger. Get yourself a good anti spyware product, virus protection and pop up blocker, for pop ups i recommend Stopzilla.
