should i own a proxy server

My computer will shut itself down, restart, or start up from off. This usually happens in the middle of the night, say 2am - 5am or so. I've had it for some time and have normally kept it on for days at a time without turning it off or restarting it and never had this problem. My Microsoft Windows is pirated(I don't know if I should've just said that) so I know that makes my comp. more subsceptible to intrusions but I've never really worried since I don't do much on it other than schoolwork and minor surfing. However, I don't want this thing used for other stuff by someone or something that I don't know what it is.

It is new, doesn't have much installed, has anti-virus and spyware, is DSL
When it freezes, can't use mouse or keyboard. Only option is to turn it off and start over. Happens at least once daily.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've opened a word doc. directly from a rediffmail attachment. I modified it and saved it using Ctrl+S. Now I dont know where it got saved?

Can any solve this problem, that when we synchronize from tally9 it shows start and then immediate shows " Exiting Tally - Out of Memory", We know it definetly due the internet connection, please some one can help to solve this issue, I am from saudi arabia.

I am trying to reformat one of my hard drives, but the following happens:
After I turn on my computer, I click any key as the screen says. The blue setup screen comes up, and it loads some of the files require for the boot, but in the middle it says: Usbohci.sys corrupted. Press and key to continue. The whole process fails after that, and I can't proceed with the reformatting. I still have xp installed on my computer (And I'm free to do some things), but a lot of errors and poor performance have been showing up lately. Starting from scratch is the best idea. I've already gathered all the files I need from my main drive.
The name of the corrupted file tells me it might have something to do with my modem- I recently switched from ethernet to a wirless usb card. I'm considering uninstalling the wireless driver (And my webcam driver [Which is my second usb slot]) as a solution.
I have a Dell Dimension 4100, Pentium 3 processor, 256 mb ram, with a few non-proprietary parts from a compaq.

i am a newbie to the mac world - converting my primary personal computing from PC desktop to macbook pro.

to avoid spending lots of time burning CDs to transfer the files - i found the following product that i'm thinking of buying:

any suggestions? or any recommendations for alternate methods? i really hate to buy this for a 1 time transfer but want to do it most efficiently as possible - i have a lot of songs and pics to transfer.

A while back someone came to my house and set up a wireless router so that we would have wireless in the house. TO access the wireless internet you have to have a network key. Now here lies the problem. I had to completely wipe out my laptop and now inorder to get wireless on it again I need that netowrk key. Well we have lost the netowork key. Is there any way to figure it out? Please help!

we are running on dile-up.

the other day i got caught trying to download fast and furious tokyo drift and they sent me a warning email. i was using bitcomet to download a torrent file. has anyone ever recieved a warning email about copyright laws? and if you did, did you continue to download movies/music?

when I work on the computer for about 10-15 min. an error message pops up. It automaticly shuts down. The internet shuts down back to my original screen.

The computer was unplugged and brought to us, it still had windows and basics all on it, i.e Internet Explorer etc. We can not not get past set up, is giving us messages to check hardware or software is properlly installed...Tried to select safe mode but would not start up. The Technical Information says: ***STOP: 0x000000ED (0x81ED3590, 0xC000000E, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) - PLEASE HELP Is a grouse new computer and we cant even set it up, is devestating, and i have none of the disks that would have come with it etc, i have only the disks from my laptop (which i am still using, due to unability to set up computer.............)

I'm using Windows XP on a Dell computer. I left click my mouse and highlight a portion of the screen. Place the cursor over that region and right click the mouse.
In the pop-up display -
CUT - is faded and won't work
COPY - is bold
PASTE - is faded
SELECT ALL - is bold
PRINT - is bold
The faded words are like they are inactive -
I just tried the cut & paste feature while typing this question and it will work here.
Would someone please help me to repair the cut & paste feature. Thanks in advance.
