Alright. I am attempting to play a game whichuses a heavily modified Quake III engine. The game begins to load just fine, but then I get a message stating that it cannot load the OpenGL subsystem. I have analyzed the computer and there are no software compatibility issues between the game and the computer. What else should I check?

I haven't visited the site in about six months, when I looked on it the other day, someone was protesting that it had been ruined by Viacom taking it over- is this true? Or have any improvements been made?

I'm trying to burn a DVD (I understand that if you burn your own DVDs, it's not a crime so long as you don't make money from them or display them for profit). Anyway, it's copy protected and my burner won't make a copy. I've heard of software that you can download from the Internet to get around this, but I'm so worried about viruses that I don't want to do that. Is it possible to upload the DVD into my computer and then burn it from there? Or is there another way to do this?

My cousin just went from dial-up to DSL. She has a printer/fax/copier. Now the fax will not work. Do you think she needs to re-install her printer software or do something else? Any suggestions will help.

when i turn on my computer the message "spyspotter system defender aborted signature files are missing or have been corrupted" comes up after a few minutes. i have not been able to find anyway of deleting this from my computer. as a result it takes several minutes for my computer to load up. previously it loaded within seconds. help.

a year ago we had a contract wit sbc dsl internet at the basic price 14.99. we bought the linksys to pair up wit the modem and it was blazing fast. After the contract was over, we renewed the SAME service which is 14.99. But this time, my sister moved out so she took the modem and the linksys router wit her. We ordered the white modem + router 2 in 1 from the company SBC itself. the problem now is that its super slow compared to the service i had back then. for example: to download a file from cnet, before the speed was 150 kbps, now its struggling to get up to 40 kbps. downloading from limewire went down from 80 ish kbps to 15 kbps. i called the tech support and they gave me some BS website to check the speed which got error on the page and did not detect my speed. i think its an excuse for them to get away with connection problems.
by any chance they gave me good connection the first time and now its the slower version since i renewed the contract? ps. my computer is perfectly fine

I have 70+ processes in my task manager! These all start when I start my comp which slows down my video feed etc. So my q's are:
1) how do I tell which ones I really need to be running all the time?
2) how do disable the ones that are unessasary, so they don't start when I turn on my comp?

Contrary to what people keep saying, I did have tabbed browsing on IE6...until a week ago. Then I wasn't paying attention and went to close things when a pop up asked if I wanted to turn off tabbed browsing. Without thinking, I said "yes". Now I can't figure out how to turn it back on. I've gone through all sorts of things and I can find is that it may be an add-on that HP put on my laptop or it might be part of Yahoo toolbar. But even finding those bits of info isn't telling me where to go to turn it back on. I even tried a system restore to a point before the change was made. No help. Any suggestions?

I have a fairly new Gateway laptop, XP system, Verizion wireless. My computer is at a crawl. I lost all access to internet options, I can't do system reinstall with my computer disk because I am missing "1386\DRV\DTA\DTA.LST", I have done system recovery to no avail, I can't download any programs from the internet, I can't install the program "Windows Live 'OneCare'" I can access the internet put only get my Yahoo email and Yahoo news. Every thing I do is slow, slow, & slow. I tried reinstalling XP but I can't. I looked in my Reg file for IE7 as suggested (I made no changes) and could not find anything. I can't download any Norton security or other antivirus programs. So, do I wipe out my hard drive? How? What are my risks? Will I be able to reinstall with my Gateway reinstall disk? Thanks.

I like to play starcraft although it's an old game. During playing the game, it sometime causes my PC to restart. It did happens sometime but not everytime i play the game. I really can't take it especially my monitor just went black when i was at the most excited part of the game. For my PC, the OS is window XP. So, does anyone know what's the problem of my PC? Is it software problem or hardware problem? And how to solve the problem?
