Contrary to what people keep saying, I did have tabbed browsing on IE6...until a week ago. Then I wasn't paying attention and went to close things when a pop up asked if I wanted to turn off tabbed browsing. Without thinking, I said "yes". Now I can't figure out how to turn it back on. I've gone through all sorts of things and I can find is that it may be an add-on that HP put on my laptop or it might be part of Yahoo toolbar. But even finding those bits of info isn't telling me where to go to turn it back on. I even tried a system restore to a point before the change was made. No help. Any suggestions?

I have IE6. I had tabbed browsing via the Yahoo!Toolbar. If this is the same case as yours, you need to go to the little pencil button. In the menu there's toolbar options ---> enable tabbed browsing.

Good luck!

If IE6 works the same way as IE7, then you can go to tools - internet options - general - and reset your tab browsing options. If not, then you can always look for the tab browsing options somewhere in your internet option.

Good Luck

Here are the instructions on how to turn it OFF.
I figure you can turn it on the same way.

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer.

2. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

3. Click the General tab, and then, in the Tabs section, click Settings.

4. Clear the Enable Tabbed Browsing check box.

5. Click OK twice.

6. Close Internet Explorer and then open it again.
