I always visit Youtube and never heard of it being taken by Viacom. I think it's still as before.

It's owned by Google, not Viacom...and nothing has changed since it's been bought.

google took them over, not viacom. i do think it is getting kind of corporate. they banned a popular director on there (mordeth13) over something very trivial, and since then a lot of people have been switching over to livevideo.com.

After Google purchased Youtube it had to start obeying the copyright laws to avoid law suits so several thousands videos get deleted everyday.

The only recent 'problem' with youtube is that many of the videos have been banned due to copyright licensing... only bad for those who consumed the products.
