I know its corrupted and I downloaded the auto-updater, my computer read that the mp3 player is plugged in but the updater doesnt. I also tried to format it but it doesnt give me the format option when i right click on the drive. PLEASE HELP!

I want to be able to hear my voice in my own speakers when I speak into the microphone. How to I get this to work? I can call pc to pc and the recipient can hear me, and the sound recorder is picking up my voice (i played it back and sounded fine), but I couldnt hear myself in my own speakers. any ideas? Is this possible? My house mate said "This isnt a PA system, you have to have a program to run the mic thru so you can hear it too."

I have notice that out of no where I have been getting a lot of porn/sex spam mail in my college email account. I haven't been to any porn or sex sites! How do I get rid of it? I erased my cookies every once in a while, but that doesn't seem to help. Please I am desperate! I am tired of seeing ways I can enhance things or ways I can please my partner!!

Recently I was suspended from eBay. I was told it was for shilling, but no evidence was provided to me. I was not shilling. I have been selling collectable knives and was doing very well and had 1024 feedback and 1 negative. I was selling 6,000.00 per month for 1 1/3 years now. I felt like one of the eBay ID's that sell the same knives may have felt threatened and reported me to get me off eBay asI was not eating into their proffits. Is there any recourse for me to findout who reported me, legally can I get this info?

I used Spybot and Norton Antiviruse and none of them did the job because i'm still getting popups. I have my popblocker settings on HIGH and i'm still getting popups. Does anyone know a program thats stronger than spybot or another way to remove spyware and adware from my computer?

I want to try ubuntu on the PC but on my laptop you press F12 and it comes up with a menu showing the hard drive, disk drive and network and I can choose which to boot from but it dosent have any keys that seem to do that job on the PC.
Is there a way?

can i use an ethernet cable with any ip company even if they send me a modem and as i have a router from my last ip i was wondering if i could also use that as it the only thing i got to connect my ethernet cable to or can i buy an adapter that i can plug in to my modem that will allow me to connect the ethernet cable to my modem

Dear Friends..........
When I start the system then Desktop will appear very late. Also Start Menu and Task bar are not shown.After some time one message is displayed -System shutdown
windows must now restart because Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectely.

Please Resolve this Problem.
I was not able to do system restore also.

They are all in good condition. I tried to unload them at a yard sale, but I only got rid of 3 and 2 printers. I have 4 left. They need to go, but I don't know where to. My bf won't let me throw away or give away things anymore, he says I'm too wasteful, just because I threw away 6 comps last year. Now I need to sell them. Any helpful answers would be great. Laptop will not shut down. Try to log off with Task Manager. Screen appears, -Logging off saving your settings, only to be replaced with -logging on loading your etc. Try using disconect, am then faced with My account or Administrator account. I go to switch off computor only to be told that Others are logged on, do I still want to shut down. Press Yes, computor switches off. Tried logging in as Administraor, with password and without only to be informed that I cant. Only I have access to my laptop, it was bought new. What have I done wrong. All help appreiciated. Thanks

My connection tends to drop off any time i'm using a p2p file transfer program, for example limewire, it will work for a few mins or maybe an hour then it will start losing connection temporarily then get it back, it will do this every time and more than once if i leave it on long enough, sometimes the connection will go out altogether and not come back, it does this too when running bittorrent which is a drag because it takes a while to ramp up the speed for those large files and everytime the connection drops off the speed goes back to 0 takes frickin forever to download a large file (days) even with a cable high speed connection. Incidentally whenever it loses the connection if i reset the router or sometimes the router and the modem the connection will be restored, i figure it has something to do w/ the router re-assigning an IP number or something as some sort of defensive mechanism as what it views as an introsion or some-such just not sure what to do about it, wired belkin rout

I've had my eMachines desktop since Summer 2004. It says that the hard drive has serious errors, and this is about 2-3 weeks after I reformatted it. How long should a computer last before I consider replacing it?

It is a P4 Gygabyte mother board, windowXP computer. We have ben using it as server in the house but it started developing problems like freezing, after restarting the computer, it gets okay until we realise again that it's no longer browsing and then we do the same again. We have tried so much like changing memory, power pack and the rest but it's still the same please. Urgently need your help here. My 3 year old desktop is about dead. It says that it has serious errors. I've reformatted the hard drive at least twice in the last month, and had it up to working condition for about 2-3 weeks, and the Kernel errors are back. I've about had it with the thing. I'm about to go to Graduate School in the fall for Religion, and am wondering what to look for in a computer--laptop, desktop, how much memory I should have, what operating system is best, PC or Mac, etc. It will mainly be used for paper writing, internet, instant messaging, email, personal photo storage, iTunes music, etc. Thanks!
