How come there are no people or animals to be seen anywhere?

You can if they are lying down. There is a website of nude google earth sunbathers somewhere online. Go to Trafalgar Square UK, you will see PPL there. (Or at least their shadows)

It's just a photo it's not live. I found my house on it last year, it showed it with the old roof that we replaced four years ago. The people would just have to be there at the time when it was shot. I have seen cows on it though.
