I want to install Open Office just until I have the money for Microsoft Word. Will I encounter any problems ?

I used to have a button in Firefox that allows me to check directly my emails. Now that I have reformatted and reinstalled Firefox, I can't find it anymore.

I installed RegScrubXP and used it to clean my Windows XP registry. Then I tried to speed up my PC using the provided Misc. Tweaks. I disabled CD-ROM autorun from there.
Later I wanted to re-enable CD-ROM autorun. So I re-enabled autorun using the RegScrubXP Misc. But my CD-ROM drives still don't perform autorun. It even doesn't play audio CDs when inserted. Also, my CD-ROM drive Properties dialog boxes (in Windows Explorer) show wrong disk space and label.
If I eject a CD while My Computer is open, it still shows the CD-ROM label and icon and, the Properties dialog box shows the last CD's size and label even if the CD has been ejected.
But RegScrubXP still shows that CD-ROM autorun is enabled.
My CD-ROM drives are still able to read data well. I am sure that there are no hardware problems.
I suspect that this is because of the changes of tweak settings I have done. Sometimes it may not because of RegScrubXP.

Can anybody please help me to find a solution?

I have a Compaq Presario 1245 laptop with a memory max. of 160 MB ( I think), a 3.5 GB HD, and Win 98SE. (I know...don't laugh!!). I am adding a 30 Gig hard drive with XP on it, and I have a 256 MB Ram card. Considering that upgrade, would the laptop get any use from that extra memory?, would it be a waste?, too much? Can you go over 256? (considering that there is allready a Ram card on it). Any input would be great, thanks!!

Currently it has been proved that finance and banking domain is the most booming domain considering the career in IT and software. After 15 years, also, there will be no end for the banking/finance domain for the software.
Similarly what will be the future telecom domain? We have voice mail, VOIP now, what will be next enhancement? if today some body joined as fresh engineer in software in Telecom domain then will that person can grow in this domain after 20 years?

I keep on geting " 'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." after I enter it into my command prompt. I was told that I would have to set the path. I have gone to environmental variables and changed the user variables and the path for system variables so that it goes to my JDK SE (I think). I do not know what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly apriciated. Oh I have windows XP if you need to know.

I backed up my files with Nero 7 Ultra Edition. And then I restored my comptuer and then when i put the dvd in to resoter the files on my comptuer but my comptuer see's it as a blank DVD. PLease help me resolve this. Its DVD-R if u want to know.

Im in microsoft word and I used the insert picture feature to create a collage of exsisting pictures i had on my computer. But i cannot save just the collage i have to save the whole thing as a word document. Which in turn does not do me any good because I cannot upload it onto a site such a photobucket because its a word document.
I am so completely frustrated!
