My 10 year old brother wants a myspace and I told him it was to dangerous is there a different site just for kids on the internet for him to make his own profile. anything would help.

Because its an old disk and when I try to install it, a message pops up telling me it may not be compatable with windows XP. Is there something I can do about that. It gives me the option of installing it anyway, but I dont want to take any risks.

Does anyone know if I can install it?

i have a question but first i need to explain the situation as a backdrop. i have a laptop, and wireless internet. this was before i had a wireless router so i have my own connection but my internet wasn't working so being a stupid guy that i am i thought that if i reinstalled windows xp and reboot my computer thinking it will fix the problem.

but that was long ago and now here is my question. when you go in MY COMPUTER and open up the C:/ drive and then DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS, the following folders are as follows: xxx~1~MYC, Administrator.MYCOMPUTER, ALL USERS.WINDOWS, xxx.MYCOMPUTER, ADMINISTRATER, ALL USERS, xxx.

The xxx are not really xxx they are just for confidentiality purposes. but why do i have so many folders. is it because i was stupid and rebooted my computer. how do i get it back ot normal. if i delete the folders will it mess up my hardrive or computer. it took space off my hardrive.

How do you make programs start up on Windows XP as soon as you login on your account. I know about the Startup folder located at C:\Documents and Settings\?????\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. Is there any other way?

a buyer has been trying to send me a payment and it won't go through. they emailed me wanting my correct paypal email address. i gave it to them then when they tried to send it again i got an email saying the payment was recieved but for it to go through i had to confirm my email address and had a link to do so. i clicked on the link and it said to confirm to put in my pass word then it told me that was not correct and that account had been closed. what is going on? no one else has ever had trouble sending me a payment. is this a scam? do i need to send another invoice through paypal? it gave me the person's shipping address but wont give me the money.

I was briefly considering buying a Macintosh computer. However out of everyone I asked about it, the people that recommended Apple/ Mac were either flaming homosexuals, or just really weird in a way I cant quite put my finger on....Some were so fanatical about it, it was kindda scary, like another Waco, TX cult or something!

So my question is; Is it OK for a regular, straight person to buy a Mac?
I wont be "stepping on toes" of the gay community, by owning one and not being gay or anything, right?

And what is this "Boot Camp", I keep hearing about?
Is this were they brainwash people who have bought their computers into fanatical zealots, and program you to look down on anyone that does not use a Mac?

On an Apple, can your record something with the built-in camera, save it, and use it as a video file in say iLife or Final Cut Studio, or do you need a camcorder to record, hook it up to a USB and do it that way?

I downloaded an .exe file onto my Mac's desktop. How do I open it to make it run? I accidentally set it up to open up with the Disk Utility application. What would be the correct application to open up the file with? The .exe file is a setup file, by the way.

It's like it keeps getting slower and slower everytime I restart my computer. Is it cuz I have added programs?
It takes forever for the internet browser to open, if I click my computer the little flashlight will hang around for a long time.. never used to do this, what's goin on?

I now cannot get any sound out of my speakers. I can hear the quiet white noise when I turn up the speakers, but no music, dvd's nothing. Doesn't a computer come with sound enable as long as you have speakers? Did i wipe out something when I did recovery?
