You don't say what percentage of free space you have on your computer, but if it is 10 % or less you will have a very difficult time getting XP to work..... deleting files really isn't going to give you much extra free space as you will have to delete unused programs as they are the large items on the computer while data files are really tiny in comparison.............. You can update your Java to the current version and then delete all of the preceding Java files (each one is well over 100 MB each and not needed - you only need the most current)......... You can back up all your photos and music files onto a seperate USB hard drive or good sized Thumb drive as they are the largest of sizes as far as files go......... But, unused programs - especially those which you have the disc for - are the biggest items to delete to free up space.......... Once you have deleted all you can, emptied the trash can, then do a full defrag of the C drive and reboot your computer........ Memory is getting cheaper every day, and if you could get a USB connected hard drive to save all of your data you would be best off.....

Hello Cuttie:
Open your Internet Explorer browser window, and use the menu to choose "TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS". Look at the top of the dialog box that will open, and make sure you're on the tab labeled "General". In that General tab window, you will see buttons for clearing cookies and deleting temporary internet files. You will also see a button for deleting your browser history. Use those buttons to clear your cookies, and to clear your 'cache' (temporary internet files).
I hope this information is helpful for you.

Go to Start, then click on Control Panel.
In the control panel look for Internet Options and click on that.
In the options dialogue box you can select DELETE for part of your stored information, or you can have it delete all of the current cache and history..
