On an Apple, can your record something with the built-in camera, save it, and use it as a video file in say iLife or Final Cut Studio, or do you need a camcorder to record, hook it up to a USB and do it that way?
What are my options? Thanks!

Yes you can if you open iMovie and start a new project it will ask you for a name for the project and then it will ask you what video format you'll be using select iSight from the drop down menu and record away. You can start and stop recording by using the import button you will see once you set up your project. THen from there youy can use it in programs like Garageband, iWeb, iDVD or you can export as a quicktime for use inb Final Cut Pro.
