Is a programme called 'spyware detector' any good? Is it safe for me to download it? I got to it thro running a yahoo search on norton antivirus and this website came up called The Inquirer. On the page is a google ad to 'read this before you download any spyware removers'. When I asked the original question I got lots of answers but I'm not qualified to pick the best one. I have AVG Free antivirus installed on my pc. Its very good. Do they do a spyware thing? Thanks for answering the original question.

Everytime I switch on my computer a little box comes on the desktop saying 'Hello World' I have the option of cancelling it or clicking on OK. Don't want to do either for fear of unleashing something nasty. Have loads of anti-spy, anti virus stuff put on by my dad cos he's a bit of an expert unlike me!! So what could it be? Can't ask dad cos he'd do one if I phoned him this time of night!!

I am purchasing a laptop within 2 weeks. I would like to know what are the favorites out there. I am not going to be using it for much just school work, music, and maybe watch a movie here and there. Generally surfing and maybe quicken. I am looking at a Dell E1505 and possible an HP but I've heard bad things about HP and their current issues aren't helping. Also what is the Router and how does that work? Any suggestions. I will greatly appreciate.

My friend left her computer in to be fixed and the guy said she had 295 spywares on it. We don't even know what a spyware is, exactly. Is it a virus? Thanks in advance to anyone who helps me with this.

i copied 15 gigs of music data vids from my ipod to my computer.
now when i try opening the files they are invisible. itunes won't play them or media player. just this player called winamp. what can i do. (my ipod broke by the way)

I got it in april and worked fine. but lately it's been spazzing out. the cd drive thinger just shoots out whenever it feels like it, even when i don't have a disk in it. i sent it back to the factory for maintenance and it was ok for a while. i don't wanna have to buy a new one or send it in again, last time i did it, it came back with a huge scratch on the screen. oh and any anti virus things that i can download for FREE?
