No, you cannot delete that file. It stores the users profile data which includes the users personal settings in the registry.

It contains saved settings such as application and Windows behavior. It isn't even possible to delete it from your own Documents and Settings folder while you're logged on to Windows. You might be able to delete someone else's, but that probably wouldn't be very nice. If you do manage to delete it, it won't break your computer or anything. A new ntuser.dat file will be created from the Default User profile, and you'll have to set up your own preferences again. -yk

no, you don.t. This is your Registry Database file, there are the settings for all your software installed including Microsoft Windows, and you're computer don't start or will start only on another user account. You cannot delete this file from Windows., because the file is locked from the operating system itself.

Never delete ANY file with an extention of .dat unless you _know_ with certainty exactly what program uses it and what's contained in that particular file!

ok i did this delete the documents under the limewire folder or u can delete the songs from limewire yet they gained't get deleted from itunes u may additionally attempt deleting any movies photos on ur pc run a disk cleanup from the equipment procedures menu.
