I got it in april and worked fine. but lately it's been spazzing out. the cd drive thinger just shoots out whenever it feels like it, even when i don't have a disk in it. i sent it back to the factory for maintenance and it was ok for a while. i don't wanna have to buy a new one or send it in again, last time i did it, it came back with a huge scratch on the screen. oh and any anti virus things that i can download for FREE?

Do a thorough cleanup of your system and if this doesn't correct the problem go to Tuneup utilities 06 site and download their free trial program to clean up you registry. However, if you have no security program install in your machine, have it checked for bugs. If this doesn't work, check to see if the writer before me is correct. If all fails, give it to Goodwill and get a good one.

Replace just your CD Rom drive..sounds like the locking mechanism in it is broke.
AVG releases a free version of the AVG anti virus. It's not the best but it still works okay.

The next time you send it for repairs you need to contact the shipper if damage has been done.Shipping insurance would have covered your scratch
