A couple of you suggested defragging: sorry to be a Luddite but I don't really know what this entails - will it delete anything or does it just sort of tidy up? Do I need to save everything to a CD just in case?

Sometimes it takes an age to do anything, though I have plenty of memory space and 4 meg broadband. Could it be anything to do with the fact that my phone line between the pc and the phone socket is a standard phone cable and not an ISDN one? I can see why this would slow down internet but why are other things like Word slow too?

i have ASUSDVD insalled and it says "tv port not working properly" when i try and play my DVDs, can any one help with this or does anyone know of another way i can play my DVDs on the computer?

I have deleted my sound device on windows xp pro, my platform is intel. So here is the question. When I format my PC or re install will it install also sound device so I will be able to play music or I have to visit a computer shop so they will instal it for me.

Whenever I use cars.com a flag appears on some items
indicating that the browser popup protection needs to be
disabled for this application. How do I temporarily disable
