I have no sound again (Im crying at this point). I was downloading the driver for my webcam and the sound just stopped. No error messages or warnings. No viruses. In the device manager it says everything is working fine. The speakers are plugged in and work fine. I cant find anything wrong with troubleshooting, its not muted, the system volume, task bar, and speaker volume is up. It plays all media just fine-but I cant hear it- the system sounds, mp3's, cd's are inaudible and the headphones have no sound either. Ive already reinstalled the driver to the sound card and moved the speaker and headphones to all possible plug ins - what the else could it be/can I do to restore sound?

Recently I've been getting into PC gaming. A year ago I bought a game called knights of the old republic, and it worked fine. A couple of months ago, I bought a new videocard. (nvidia geforce 6600 GT AGP) Installation was fine, and on this new video card I was able to play battlefront two. That game also ran smoothly. Two weeks ago, I bought oblivion. It started freezing about ten minuets into play. So, I re-installed windows, installed oblivion on a clean boot(after installing drivers) and it still didn't work. Thinking it was oblivions fault, I returned it for fable. Fable did the same thing, but my sys requirements are way above fable. And now battlefront 2 doesn't work either. I have a dual boot with gentoo, my system specs are 512MB RAM, 2.27GHZ processor(pentium 4), and nvidia geforce 6600 GT for AGP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking to buy a laptop at a fairly decent price. I'm a college student, so I'm poor. However, I can save up if necessary. I'll be using it for the internet, word processing, gaming, photos, and music. My present desktop is this: Hewlett Packard-Pavilion AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+, 2.10 GHz, 448 MB of RAM, 60 GB. I'm looking for something similar, but my desktop can't play some of the games that I want, still. I'm pretty computer illiterate, so I don't know what the best deals are. Any help is appreciated.

I am so frustrated. This is my second time with the iPOD. When I got the new one after going to the store, everything was great until my lousy brother took the iPOD and charged it all night. The morning I got up, I saw that the iPOD would not turn on. So, I hooked it up to the outlet charger and it would not do anything! Next, I hooked it up to the computer and at first, a battery with an exclamation mark appears then a battery figure with a lightning strike appears. I don't know what to do and I am totally desperate to get this stupid piece of electronic to work. I've tried resetting it and it appears to not work and I am so not wanting to go back to the Apple Store because its annoying as crap to go in there and go back again to pick it up after 3 days when all they do is give you a new one. Well.. I think I tried resetting it and the same sign appears at first and moves to the lightning flash and battery figure.

I had the version before this 8 one. It was working fine until last mon. Now it will say its logging me in but face either goes back to sleep or just stares at me. I'm sure i have a cookie problem. Can someone please help me! Am missing important stuff & cant get Y's feedback. I can access it just fine from work, just not home.
