ok YES, there is a way around all that, depending on how tech savvy your step dad is. my step dad did the same thing to me, ironically. first, restart your computer, but do it in safe mode (when its restarting, press F8 repeatedly until a screen comes up asking what you want to do, use the arrow keys and highlight "Safe Mode" and hit enter). once it fully loads, there should be at least three user acounts: yours (which is limited), your step dad's (which will be a password-protected Administrator account), and an actual honest to goodness Administrator account. HOPEFULLY (and i stress hopefully) your stepdad didn't think to put a password on the Administrator account. it stays hidden unless you boot in safe mode, so it will probably slip his senile mind. if it does ask for a password, try leaving it blank or just putting "pass" or "password" (forgive my being rusty, its been awhile). if you get in there, its all good. just go to Control Panel and FIRST OF ALL, set a password to the Administrator's Account, the one that you will be using right then. that way your tail is covered if you have to do this again. then just change your personal account back to computer admin, set a password, restart the computer as you would normally, and you're gold.

No, the Administrator has control. You'd have to know his password, I believe, to make any changes.

No way! SOrry to hear that... anyway, you can still do a lot of things even if you dont have the Administrator rights.

Looks to me like you are the sexy part and he's the ***** part in your nick. :-)

sorry for you, but there no way for you to change that unless you can get in under his name, unless you are an Adminstrator you can NOT change that setting. believe me i know
