You mean SP2 and not XP2. SP2 = Service Pack 2. Microsoft builds service packs from time to time for various operating systems that are a package of all current patches for known bugs and security issues. To update your machine open Internet Explorer, click tools and windows update. Allow it to scan, get all express updates at least.

My guess is that you are talking about SP2. And also that you have not updated to SP2. If you are still running XP SP0 (no service pack) then you will no longer be able to recieve updates through Windows update. If you are running at least SP1 then you should be okay. Whatever the case is, I highly suggest you get SP2 (in fact, it's far past time that you did).

I think you mean Win XP SP2, meaning your still using SP1. What this means is Microsoft will no longer offer support for anyone who still uses SP1, which includes tech support in any form and possibly mean you wont be getting any more updates. So I strong urge your to update to SP2. I can tell you it is safe to download all the bugs have been taken care of and SP3 is in the making.

Friendship, no it isn't undesirable....my contacts purely this week helped me turn my head faraway from the darkness and in the course of the gentle....this is no longer delusional in any respect, yet a truth.

microsoft will no longer support your software (free auto upgrades and patches) that kinda stuff......
they usually provide "serious threat" packages for their software for several years after that message goes out
