My epson scanner is about 7 years old. I since got a new computer w/ a Windows XP operating system and when I tried to hook up my old scanner to my new computer, my scanner would not work. Can I download a software from the internet that will allow my Windows XP to support my old scanner?

Specifically, the scanner doesn't seem to register at all. When I push the scan button, the readout tells me that it is waiting for input from the computer. But nothing I do has made the computer even acknowledge there is a scanner there.

while trying to install the cd that came with the scanner, there is a point where the installation freezes, then an error message that says "another installation is already in progress" but there is no other installation going on! i have a compaq presario 2500 notebook with iexplorer 6, windows xp service pack2. anyone have a solution????

Whenever I use to download a photo it is of >1 Mb in size although when my friends use to mail me same image (after scanning) it is of 300 kbs appr. only. I would like to know that whether there is any way through which while scanning image size shall be minimal.

i am trying to install a artec scanner(ive done it before),but every time i attach it by usb it says "unknown device" so i do all the normal procedures like add hardware wizard and update driver,allthough ive allready installed the driver
so why will it not get recognized,it cant be that i have usb 1.0 sockets as i have run all other usb devices in them including a new freecom external hdd
is there any other ways to install this scanner,and when you buy a u.s.b 2.0 hub will it upgrade my existing slower usb,s so as to speed up my usb connection
the last time i succesfully installed it i had to unplug and plug it in about 100 times before it was recognized
any ideas?

I have a Epson Perfection 1250 Photo scanner, and I cannot get the driver to install in Windows Bista beta2 build 5384. When I try to install from the original disc, the installation stops in the middle of the install. I got a tip from Yahoo Answers, to copy the files from the original disc to a hard disk and install from there. Then the software installed, but not the twain driver. I have tried to download the latest driver from epson.com, and also different versions of the twain, with no result whatsoever. I just can't get my scanner to work wothout the driver. Does anybody else have this problem, and what is the solution. I had no problem installing the other hardware I have, nor do I have any problems else with the Vista package. Is there any other drivers I can install to get this scanner to work? Any suggestions would be appreciated... Thanks!

I have a Memorex 6136u scanner and I already downloaded the programm from memorex.com and installed it but when I go to Control Panel and try to ad a scanner in Printers and Scanners folder it doesn't show me file I downloaded. what should I do? I don't have the CD with hardware

I have finally added it to the scanners and cameras folder in control panel but now when I doubleclick on scanner sign it says that status is anavailable and I still can't make it work
