I have a Epson Perfection 1250 Photo scanner, and I cannot get the driver to install in Windows Bista beta2 build 5384. When I try to install from the original disc, the installation stops in the middle of the install. I got a tip from Yahoo Answers, to copy the files from the original disc to a hard disk and install from there. Then the software installed, but not the twain driver. I have tried to download the latest driver from epson.com, and also different versions of the twain, with no result whatsoever. I just can't get my scanner to work wothout the driver. Does anybody else have this problem, and what is the solution. I had no problem installing the other hardware I have, nor do I have any problems else with the Vista package. Is there any other drivers I can install to get this scanner to work? Any suggestions would be appreciated... Thanks!

That is why they call it BETA. Things simply won't work, because they are untested.

As a Microsoft Beta tester, you should report your findings to both Microsoft and Epson.

Thank you for working for FREE. Next time, don't do any Beta testing on your primary RIG.

I hate to tell you this. But, a number of Windows XP drivers won't work under Vista. That is why Microsoft is doing its best to bundle as many drivers and autodetect routines into Vista as they can. The reason is a lot of companies (save for ATi, nVidia and Creative) do not have Vista drivers ready nor are they likely to until Vista releases. I have no suggestions to fix your problem because most likely there aren't any or any that will work well. Use Windows XP when you need it. Hopefully and I am hoping that you did not upgrade XP to Vista.
